Boy Struck Near Commons Lane Elementary
A child suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle outside a Florissant Elementary School.
According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Interview with Police Officer Craig DeHart, the boy was hit on the 2700 block of Derhake Road, right in front of Commons Lane Elementary School. The child is of elementary school age, but no other information about his identity has been released.
The boy’s mother dropped the child off at school. The child was struck as he was crossing the street.
Police say he was not in the crosswalk at the time of impact.
The boy was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the vehicle that struck him is cooperating with police.
