Maryland Heights, Missouri—Authorities responded to a tanker truck accident in Maryland Heights on Monday morning. According to KMOV, the tanker truck overturned, causing fuel to leak onto the already-icy Maryland Heights Expressway.
Skyzoom 4 cameras show the tanker truck on its side on the Maryland Heights Expressway just north of Creve Coeur Mill Road. Fuel spilled from the truck onto both sides of the roadway causing a large traffic backup.
As emergency crews worked on clearing the scene of the tanker truck accident, another semi-truck overturned on the eastbound Interstate 270. The accident required the closing of multiple lanes.
Icy roads are to blame for both big rig truck accidents this morning. Fortunately, neither driver was injured during the crash.
