The St. Louis injury lawyers at the Schultz & Myers Personal Injury Lawyers took a lunch break last Friday for a cause.
Personal injury lawyer, Stephen Schultz and his wife, Tara regularly donate to Sunshine Ministries, and he wanted to find a way to volunteer as well. Stephen Schultz and some of the staff went to Sunshine Ministries Eagle Lodge Day Camp to join elementary-aged campers for lunch, and some fun activities!
About Sunshine Ministries Day Camp
The Eagle Lodge camp is almost an hour out of St. Louis city, and campers board the bus every morning for a day of fun activities. The summer camp is located on 80 acres of beautifully wooded farmland, and allows the at-risk youth to escape their potentially dangerous neighborhoods and “just be kids.”
“Sunshine Kids,” as they’re called, build lasting memories every day at camp. Camp Director, Carol Clarkson “Mrs. C,” told us that one camper hadn’t even seen a swimming pool before arriving at Eagle Lodge! “Where’d they get all that water from?” he said skeptically on his first day of camp. He wasn’t a swimmer at the end of camp, but he enjoyed sitting in the shallow end with all his camp friends!
Swimming is definitely a favorite activity at the Eagle Lodge, but they also have Cowboy Carnivals, arts and crafts, Bible study, and group sharing times.
Eagle Lodge employs several camp counselors who are known as “big buddies” to the campers. The college-aged big buddies create a high adult-to-child ratio so that kids can always find an adult to talk to when they need one.
Schultz & Myers Personal Injury Lawyers Field Trip
Serving campers lunch at the Eagle Lodge was a blast! Schultz & Myers Personal Injury Lawyers brought some yummy deli sandwiches, fruit, water, and mini-brownies to share with the campers.
