In Missouri, teenagers can obtain an instruction permit at the age of 15 and get restricted driving privileges at 16. To obtain the permit, a teen has to pass the written driver exam at a Missouri State Highway Patrol examination station. They must then go with a parent or guardian to obtain the Missouri Instruction Permit document.

A teen has to have an instruction permit for a minimum of six months and must complete at least 40 hours of daytime driving and 10 hours of nighttime driving before they can apply for an intermediate license. They must also be at least 16 years old.

For at least six months, a teen with an intermediate license can’t operate a motor vehicle with more than one passenger under the age of 19 who is not a family member. They also aren’t allowed to drive alone between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. except to and from a job or school activity or because of an emergency.

The minimum age for a full license is 18. A teen can’t have suspended, denied, or revoked driving privileges when they apply for a license. They must also not have any alcohol-related offenses or traffic convictions within the 12 months before applying for the license.

What To Do After a Car Accident in St. Louis, MO

After a car accident, the first thing you need to do is assess whether you and your passengers are injured. If you notice that you’re in significant pain or that you’ve hit your head, you want to avoid moving if at all possible. Call emergency services.

When medical professionals arrive on the scene, make sure to let them examine you — even if you don’t think you’re injured. Often, the shock of the accident masks pain. By having medical professionals look you over, you’re ensuring you don’t have serious injuries that you’ve not noticed.

If you’re well enough to do so, you also need to contact the police. When they get there, give a clear account of what happened, but don’t admit fault

You also need to ensure that you exchange information with the other parties and that you do so without speaking about fault. Do your best to keep the conversation brief and civil.

It’s important to start gathering evidence of the accident. Take photos of the vehicles, the street conditions, your injuries, and anything else that can demonstrate what happened. If there are eyewitnesses, get their contact information, as well.

You then need to contact a car accident attorney in St. Louis for help. They can guide you through the claims process and negotiate with insurance companies on your behalf.
